Performing odd jobs to make money, to pay the rent, to get the band back together, players assume the role of an aspiring rocker (Alex) in this puzzle-simulation game. Players engage in mini-games, run errands, solve puzzles, play music; but mostly, they interact with various characters on the way to reuniting "Iron Roses." One of the characters, a club owner, frequently uses "bleeps" in conversation (the text literally reads, "BLEEP"); for example, "Who the BLEEP are you?" "Hey, bartender, call the BLEEP-ing bouncer," and "Go get the BLEEP-ing amp! I've got six more bands auditioning this afternoon!" The game contains a handful of direct references to alcohol (e.g., "Are we sipping cosmopolitans at a trendy bar?" and ". . . there'll be plenty more beer and trash waiting for your attention."). There are also numerous indirect references to alcohol—light green bottles perched atop bars, on club tables, in alleyways; unmarked bottles near the stage, outside the apartment; bottles strewn next to brown paper bags and the hunched-over man.
