Disney Alice in Wonderland + DGamer

In this highly stylized action-adventure game, players return to Underland for the second time after the events of the original Alice in Wonderland. Players take control of a supporting cast of characters in order to guide and protect Alice as she journeys through Underland on a quest to fulfill her destiny: defeating the fearsome Jabberwocky and overthrowing the despotic Red Queen. Players engage in combat against an assortment of fantastical beings: the Red Queen's henchmen, dragons, flowers with eyes, skeleton-like spiders, and boss characters (e.g., Jabberwocky and Bandersnatch). The depiction of combat is somewhat minimal, but it does include realistic-sounding sword-clashing, grunts and groans, swiping, and flinching. Although the graphics are overtly "cartoony," the surrealistic setting and darkly stylized imagery add a touch of intensity to the violence: a mouse removes an enemy's eye (off-screen)—the organ bounces on the ground as the eyeless creature cries profusely; a still image depicts Alice and a friend hanging from a tree with the assistance of suction-like strings (i.e., the string/suction is attached to the tops of their heads, not their necks); an ominous vortex opens above Alice and sucks her in as she screams. Combined with the dramatic and ethereal music, these somewhat eerie (though artistic) depictions contribute to the E-10+ rating.
