Rating Summary

This is a role-playing game based on characters and events from the movie How to Train Your Dragon. Players are charged with raising and training their own dragons and participating in different activities: customizing the dragons' appearance, making armor for dragons to wear in battle; shooting turrets, obstacles, and other dragons in a vertically-scrolling mini-game; fighting other dragons in one-on-one turn-based combat. This last-mentioned activity requires players to select from a roster of different attack moves that include ranged-fire and melee attacks (e.g., "Bite," "Melt," "Slash," "Pounce," "Serpent Tail"). Once the move is selected, players watch as a brief animation performs the selected move: a dragon can shoot a fire ball at another dragon; a dragon flies over to bite the opposing dragon amid snarling and jaw-snapping sounds; a dragon pounces on the head of another dragon as the screen shakes; and hit points float above the injured creature. Human characters sometimes rally each other or themselves before battles with comments such as "Glory or Death!!!"
