Rating Summary

This is an action role-playing game in which players control a group of characters who battle evil forces and attempt to rescue a princess in a medieval world. Players use swords, axes, spears, staffs, and magic to defeat human soldiers and fantasy creatures. Characters and creatures grunt or scream when hit; slashing and striking sounds are frequently heard during combat. The most intense depictions of violence occur during cutscenes: characters get stabbed and impaled by swords; a sharp sword-like light pierces a character's chest from behind; villagers flee from a demon while pleading for their lives. The game contains a handful of alcohol references and depictions of use: the central character works at wine shop called Rapacci Wines; players may build a winery or bar and invite people to live there; and during one cutscene, a character sips from his mug and laments, "I am not a captain anymore, just a drunken fool." Characters sometimes use the expletives "b*tching," "bastard," and "p*ssed off" in the dialogue.
