Fieldrunners

This is a tower-defense strategy game in which players arrange small towers along a path to defend against waves of enemy fieldrunners (i.e., ground and air units). Viewed from a top-down perspective, players watch as their towers fire rubber bullets, missiles, electric bolts, and flames at the oncoming troops. When mechanical fieldrunners (tanks, helicopters, robots, etc.) are hit, they will either explode or turn into a ruined pile and disappear; when human soldiers are hit, they often let out a high-pitched yelp while falling down. Some of the machine gunfire in the game can sound somewhat realistic.
