This is an action adventure game based on the characters and events of the X-men Origins: Wolverine movie. Players assume the role of the clawed mutant Wolverine as he traverses a variety of locations (e.g., the wilderness, mines, weapons facilities, and military bases) to battle enemy soldiers, cyborgs, and robots in frequent hand-to-hand combat. Players use their claws to slash, stab, and impale enemy characters, while a "Berserker Rage" mode allows players to destroy enemies at a frenetic pace. Spurts of red blood are usually emitted when enemies are attacked. Cries of pain, metal slashing sounds, and realistic gunfire/explosions can also be heard during combat. One cutscene briefly depicts a soldier drawing a cigarette to his mouth before he is attacked from behind. Some dialogue contains expletives such as "b*tch," "a*s," and "bastard."
