Rating Summary

This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of Matt Hazard, a fictional 1980s video game star who finds himself inside a real video game. Players traverse through metaphysical game environments, encounter classic video game enemies (e.g., zombies, WWII soldiers, role-playing game characters), and attack characters by using guns and hand-to-hand combat. Although enemies are digitized and have a holographic presence, they can react to being shot by screaming loudly, emitting blue splashes of "mathematical code," or falling down and evaporating. Some female characters are dressed in skimpy black dresses as they dance on platforms or in cages. During one sequence, an enemy introduces two provocatively-dressed females as his servants that cater to his every whim. Some profanity (e.g., "b*tch," "d*ck," and "a*shole) can be heard in the dialogue.
