This is a "point-and-click" adventure game in which players assume the role of a female vampire trying to flee a castle and return to Paris. Players guide the main character through the fictional land of Draxsylvania, where they solve challenging puzzles and encounter strange characters along the way. One character is a nail-salon worker who specializes in "human fulfillment" and "does stuff to make people happy." The player can have a long conversation with this woman – who carries a cigarette and holder – during which it is strongly implied that she is a prostitute. Another character is a talking bird that squats to read the newspaper, then defecates over a ledge, nearly hitting an annoyed gargoyle. In one scene, villagers plunge a wood stake into a vampire, then twist and hold the stake inside its chest for some time. During the course of the game, characters sometimes refer to blood as wine (e.g., "…a really thick and salty tasting Merlot with an iron aftertaste?"). Players can also explore a room full of torture devices that have faint streaks of blood on one of the mechanisms. Expletives such as "bastard" and "damn" can be heard in dialogue.
