Le Conte de Despereaux is an adventure game based on the movie and book of the same name. As a little mouse, players battle evil and other creatures lurking within the castle walls in an effort to save the princess from peril. Players mostly break open objects/vases, collect coins and buttons, and fight bugs, spiders, and other creepy crawlers using common household items (e.g., a sewing needle, corkscrews and the handles of scissors). Among many hazards that players must avoid are sharp swinging knives that contain dark, faded blood along the blades.
