Midnight Club L.A. Remix is an open-world racing game in which players control various vehicles (beater cars, roadsters, sports cars, etc.) to compete against other players in a realistic depiction of the city of Los Angeles. Players can drive in timed races, one-on-one street races, or checkpoint races, while running over and damaging various objects (e.g., street lamps, mailboxes, pay phones, fire hydrants) along the way. In one mode called "payback," players will get cash/points for damaging other vehicles. Billboards within the city depict women in various suggestive poses or signage (e.g., "Live Nude – GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS," "STRIP CLUB," and silhouettes). Some song lyrics contain specific references to violence (e.g., "Put a gun in my mouth" and "I put chuck's on her throat") and drugs (e.g., "They sell drugs in the hood," "I need my fix," and "roll that…white carpet to the hood"). Certain lyrics contain partial edits of expletives and derogatory language such as "f*ck," "n*ggas," and "sh*t."
