Spongebob Squarepants featuring NickToons Globs of Doom is a side-scrolling action game in which players control various Nickelodeon characters to stop an invading alien force. Players are required to solve various movement-based puzzles as well as battle enemy 'goo' monsters using hand-to-hand combat, ranged fighting, and special attacks (e.g., a bubble shot and an electric jolt). Characters blink briefly when damage is inflicted.
