ESRB President
The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) is seeking its next President to lead the organization at a pivotal moment for both the video game industry and global content rating systems. This executive will guide ESRB’s strategic evolution as the video game industry continues its shift toward digital, live-service, and globally distributed platforms, while preserving the credibility, independence, and public trust at the heart of effective self-regulation. The President will also serve as Chair of the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) Board, helping expand its role as a global standard for digital age ratings.
This leader will represent ESRB externally with industry partners, policymakers, regulators, and international stakeholders, serving as a visible and credible advocate for self-regulation in an increasingly complex content and safety environment. Internally, the President will lead a mission-driven team of approximately 35 professionals, modernizing systems, communications, and technology, while honoring the organization’s strong culture and institutional knowledge.
The ideal candidate brings senior leadership experience, strong business and regulatory judgment, and a deep understanding of the video game industry or adjacent digital sectors. The candidate will be a collaborative, strategic, and forward-looking executive with the ability to navigate diverse stakeholder interests, drive organizational modernization, strengthen ESRB’s long-term value proposition, and position the organization for continued relevance and resilience. This role is currently based in New York, though exceptional candidates will be considered regardless of location, with an East Coast preference. Domestic and international travel is expected.
