Utawarerumono: ZAN

This is an action role-playing game in which players follow the story of a warrior who has lost his memories. From a third-person perspective, players engage in melee combat against hordes of enemies (e.g., giant insects, demons, humans). Players use swords, fans, and magic spells (e.g., blasts of fire, wind) to attack humans and monsters in frenetic combat. Battles are highlighted by impact sounds, explosions, and depictions of staggering bodies when struck. Some female characters wear tight clothing with exaggerated-sized breasts; the dialogue/text also contains suggestive material, including innuendo within a spanking scene (e.g., “If you were lovers, I figured…I could pick up some tips...”; “I'm not blowing my chance to have a full-blown passionate love affair”; "...puts the girl firmly on her knee...yanks down Anju's skirt to bare her rear end..."). Alcohol is discussed in several scenes, and one mission prompts players to confiscate sake from characters (described as “partying too hard”). One character is depicted smoking a cigar during a prolonged sequence. The words “sh*t,” “a*shole,” and “b*tch” appear in dialogue.
