This is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game in which players fight against or alongside demons in the post-apocalyptic (fictional) outskirts of Tokyo, Japan. Players emerge from metallic bunkers to explore dungeons and barren city-wastelands, negotiate/form alliances with demons, and complete quests that often involve killing creatures or other human players. Swords, hammers, rifles, shotguns, and magic can be used to battle anime-style enemies in real-time combat. Although the majority of attacks are somewhat fantastical (e.g., spiraling lines, wispy plumes of colored smoke, cascades of light and energy), the use of realistic firearms intensifies the level of violence. So do the depictions of blood.
Some attacks produce large patches of blood that suddenly appear under defeated creatures, then evaporate in seconds. And thin clouds of blood "spiral" in front of injured players, trail their backward motion, then disappear just as quickly. Throughout the game, players are able to customize their characters' appearance and may select outfits that are somewhat revealing; for example, several leather, "strappy" pieces expose deep cleavage or portions of lower breasts and buttocks. A few female demons are also scantily clad, hovering in bondage-style outfits, half-open blouses, or the tightest of short-shorts.
